Description

The Durhams is a detached cottage dating to around 1700. The ground floor is constructed of limestone, while the first floor is of Flemish bond brick with vitrified headers. The roof is thatched, with a hip to the right-hand side, and has a brick stack to the left. The cottage is in an L-shape. The front of the cottage has two windows. A lean-to porch with a 20th-century door is situated to the right, and a three-light casement window is on the left. The first floor has two two-light casement windows. To the left of the cottage is a weatherboarded extension and a 20th-century garage, both under a thatched roof. The right return features a timber-framed first floor with a single-light casement window to the rear wing, along with 20th-century casement windows. The interior was not inspected. This building holds group value as a well-preserved example of an early 18th century cottage.
