Description
This is a house that has been divided into flats, built in the early 19th century. It is colourwashed and rendered, likely made of stone, and has a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, with end stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance, although the specific details of the interior were not inspected during the survey.
The exterior features two storeys and a half basement, with a symmetrical three-bay front and 2½ storey canted bays on both the left and right sides. There is a parapet with a cornice, and steps leading up to a 19th-century panelled front door, which has a rectangular fanlight and a doorcase with an entablature and moulded brackets. The first and ground floors have plate glass 19th-century four-pane sash windows, while the basement has small pane timber windows.
Although the interior was not examined, it likely contains interesting features and original joinery. This house forms a good pair with the Georgian House next door on the left.
