1A Courtenay Park

1A Courtenay Park is a house that served as a driving test centre at the time of listing. It was built in the mid-19th century and features painted stucco with wide bracketed eaves beneath a hipped slate roof, which has a moulded ridge stack located to the left of centre. The building is designed in an L-shape with a rear wing.

The exterior consists of two storeys and has a 1:2-window arrangement. It includes a plinth and banded quoins at the ground floor, with rusticated quoins at the first floor. The tripartite 4/4-pane sash windows, which do not have horns, are adorned with moulded architraves. The first-floor windows are segmental-headed with bracketed sills, while the ground-floor windows at the front feature cornices on consoles. The left side of the building is set back and has similar windows in the left return.

The main range on the right has two windows and steps forward under a shared hipped roof. There are two full-height gabled bays that project further forward, with rusticated quoins at all angles. The tripartite windows in these bays are also under segmental arches. A plain door opening is positioned between the gabled bays.

This building is part of the Courtenay Park development, which was laid out in 1854.
