Description
Lancefield House is a house dating from the circa 1840s, located on St Saviours Lane in Padstow. The building is rendered and stuccoed, featuring a slate roof with hipped ends and rendered brick end stacks. It has an overall 'L' shaped plan with a double depth arrangement, including a service wing with a one-room plan to the front right. The entrance is situated in the angle between the main range and the front wing. The two reception rooms overlook the garden to the south, while the entrance on the north side leads into an entrance hall with a staircase on the right, illuminated by a stair-window on the right-hand side elevation.
The house is two storeys tall. The north elevation displays incised pilaster strips and a moulded string course. The original 12-pane sash windows, which have moulded architraves, are arranged in a 1:2 window front. There is a 20th-century porch at the angle of the main range and the front wing, with 12-pane sashes to the right and left on both the ground and first floors. The front wing has two sashes on the first floor.
Inside, the house retains its original carpentry and joinery.
