Description
This chest tomb is located approximately 7 meters north of the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Teignmouth. It commemorates Sir John Strachan Bart, who died in 1814, his wife Elizabeth who died in 1837, and their daughter Jane Elizabeth who died in 1817. The tomb is made of freestone and features a hipped top with sides that taper down to a moulded base. It has reeded pilasters at the corners and raised panels with concave corners on three sides. The east end, which has been repaired, is missing its panel.
