Description
This is a barn located approximately 5 meters east of Tucketts in Trusham, likely built in the 17th century. It is constructed from painted stone rubble and cob, with a corrugated iron roof featuring gable ends, which was originally thatched. There is a lean-to cider store with a scantle slate roof. The barn was formerly L-shaped, but the range to the west was removed in the 20th century. It is built end on to the slope and runs parallel to the farmhouse, with a surviving floor at the lower end.
At the upper end, there are large opposing winnowing doorways, and at the lower end, there are opposing doorways with an old planked door at the rear. There is also a door at the front and an old shuttered window to the right with a door above it. Additionally, there is a wide doorway at the upper or north gable end. The north end narrows where it used to connect to a wing at a slight angle. The cider store to the west features a large doorway and a small casement window. Inside, the lower end has a cobbled floor and three stalls for animals, along with two old beams still in place and the sawn-off end of a very large beam located about midway along the barn.
