Description
This is a pair of lodges located approximately 880 meters east of Kitley House, built around 1820-1825, likely during the time of G.S. Repton's remodelling of Kitley House. The lodges are designed in the Tudor style, constructed from ashlar with slate roofs. They feature a central moulded four-centred arch over the drive, which has recessed spandrels and is topped with a crenellated parapet that displays a coat of arms. The lodges are flanked by octagonal turrets that have tall pinnacles with ogee caps. Each lodge has large moulded panelled doors, although one door is missing. There are plain screen walls on either side of the drive, which have moulded coping and octagonal turrets at each end, also with crenellated caps. Behind these screens, there are small single-storey lodges that have finials over the gable ends, moulded coping along the parapet, a moulded string course, wooden mullion windows, and panelled doors.
