Description
The lodge and attached gates to Kirtlington Park were built in the early to mid-19th century and extended in the 20th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature a Welsh-slate roof with an ashlar ridge stack. The building has a double-depth plan with a small addition at the rear and is a single storey in height. The symmetrical front has two windows and includes a six-panel door situated between nine-pane sash windows. Each end of the lodge has pairs of similar sash windows. The shallow-pitched roof has overhanging boxed eaves supported by wooden brackets, which continue across the gables and around the verges to create pediments. The interior has not been inspected. The cast-iron gates feature quatrefoil bands and are supported by open work piers with ornamental trellis patterns and decorated ball finials. The gates are connected to the lodge by railings and a subsidiary gate.
