Description

Winter Cottage is a small house that dates from the early to mid-18th century and was later extended in the 20th century. It is built from coursed limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with a thatch roof and brick gable stacks. The cottage has a two-unit plan and consists of one storey plus an attic. The front has two windows and a doorway located to the right of the center, which is set in a stone porch. Flanking the doorway are two-light casements, and there is a blocked second doorway at the extreme left. The dormers also contain two-light casements. To the left, there is a small rendered outshut, and an extension is present at the rear. Inside, there is a blocked fireplace with a bressumer.
