Description
The courtyard walls, gate piers, and outbuilding located immediately southeast of Puslinch House date from the early 18th century. The red brick walls are constructed in Flemish bond and enclose a long, narrow courtyard. At the east end, there is a gateway flanked by brick piers topped with stepped brick caps and stone ball finials. A 16th-century granite doorway with a four-centred arch and continuous roll moulding has been reset into the north side of the wall. The outbuilding at the west end of the yard, also from the early 18th century, is made of brick and features a slate gable-ended roof. Facing the yard is a reset 16th-century hollow-chamfered granite window with two four-centred arch lights, and a similar window is located in the north gable end. The 16th-century granite doorway and window likely originated from the old manor house, Old Puslinch Farmhouse. This structure is listed for its group value.
