Description

Oak Corner is a house, dating from around the late 17th century, originally divided into two cottages. The external walls are built from stone rubble, with some areas rendered. The roof is thatched, with gabled ends and a half-hipped design. The building has a long front facade with a four-to-five window arrangement. The windows are 19th-century casements with glazing bars. A 20th-century lean-to porch has been added at the lower end, and a stone chimney stack is visible at the higher gable end. Another chimney stack is located on the original rear wall at the lower end. A small 20th-century lean-to extension is present at the rear, and a staircase projection extends from the rear wall at the higher end. The interior of one of the cottages (No. 2) contains a fireplace at the higher gable end, featuring a moulded wooden bressumer.
