Description

This milestone is an early 19th-century painted granite block that is triangular in section. It is mainly concealed in the embankment. The inscription reads "To Modbury three-quarter mile to Plymouth 11 miles." The stone is located approximately 150 meters east of the approach lane to Edmeston Farmhouse and is situated on the Modbury to Plymouth turnpike, which was established after 1827.
