Description
Milestone located on the south side of the B3207 in Modbury, dating from the early 19th century. This milestone is a painted granite block, triangular in shape, measuring approximately 800 mm high and 450 mm wide. It is inscribed with the distances: "To Mod 1" and "to Dart 15 1/2". This milestone is part of a series that marked the Modbury to Dartmouth turnpike, which was re-routed south of Brawnston in the 1820s or 1830s.
