Description
Sequer's Bridge is a road bridge over the River Erme, built in the late 18th century or possibly rebuilt in 1794 and again in the mid 19th century. The bridge is constructed of ashlar and features three spans with round arches. The piers have stepped cutwaters on both the upstream and downstream sides. Shallow pilasters rise from the cutwaters into the parapet, which has rounded stone coping. According to James Green, the Surveyor of Bridges for Devon, the bridge was rebuilt in 1794, and it appears to have undergone another rebuilding, likely in the mid 19th century.
