Description
No. 30 Church Street is a narrow frontage house from the early 19th century, possibly with a refronting of earlier materials. It features slate hanging and a slate roof. The building has three storeys, with a two-storey canted bay on the right that has a leaded hipped roof and 2:4:2-pane sash windows with moulded cornices and slate-hung spandrels. The second floor has two 4-pane sash windows that are offset to the left. On the left side, there is a portico supported by slender Doric half columns, leading to an entablature and a segmental pediment, with a six-panel door and overlight, along with panelled reveals. The box eaves complete the design. The frontage is very similar to the adjoining No. 29, but has a steeper roof pitch and lower ceiling heights.
