Description
No. 4 Church Street is a house with two shops, dating from the early 19th century. It features a smooth rendered exterior and a slate roof with decorative cresting. The building has three storeys and two windows. On the ground floor, there is a small square 20th-century plate glass display bay on the left, and to the right, a 1:4:1-light 19th-century display window with slender mullions supporting arched heads under a fascia with a single cornice, all above a flat roof. Off-centre to the left is a part-glazed door framed by an architrave and topped with a bold projecting keystone. The first floor has two large 20-pane sash windows, while the second floor features 9-pane sashes. A plain string course runs between the first and second floors. The rear of the building has a 20-pane sash window on the first floor and a 9-pane sash above. A large square chimney stack is located on the right gable.
