Description

This is a late 19th or early 20th century house situated at the end of a row on Church Street in Modbury. The house is rendered with a slate roof. It is three storeys high and has three windows. The ground floor features square bay windows with 1:3:1 lights, small-pane transom lights, and a 6-panel door, all set under a continuous cornice. A segmental-headed transom light sits above the door. At the first floor, square oriels are incorporated into a flat roof, with a central tripartite sash window and narrow sash returns. A cornice runs along the first floor, supported by brackets. This cornice sits above a cill, flanking a central blind window within its own surround and having a moulded cornice resting on consoles. The second floor has four-pane sashes in moulded surrounds, with the central window being smaller than the others. The gable is plain and returns to the Chapel frontage. The property is primarily included on the list for its group value.
