Description

The milestone at Hillcrest, located about 230 metres north of Fib Cross, dates from the 18th century. It is made of granite and has a painted finish. The stone has a triangular section and is set into the embankment, although some inscriptions are partly worn away. On the south face, it indicates distances to Dartmouth (11 miles) and Totnes (9 miles). The north face is supposed to read Kingsbridge (3 miles), but this is not currently visible.
