Description
The churchyard wall, gate-piers, and gates located east of the Church of St Andrew are likely from the 18th or 19th century. The wall is made of slate rubble and serves as a retaining wall for the churchyard, which is situated at a higher level than the adjacent road. The gate-piers, probably from the mid-19th century, are tall and constructed of dressed slate rubble, topped with flat slate caps. There is a wrought-iron overthrow designed for a lamp, which is currently missing. The pair of cast-iron gates features a top rail that ramps up to the stiles, with shafts adorned with fleur-de-lis heads above the top and mid rails. The lock plate is also cast-iron and bears the inscription "1848 Revd H R Fortescue Rector."
