Description
Steps Cottage is an earlier 18th-century cottage with a later addition at the rear, and subsequent alterations. It is a two-storey building with an irregular arrangement of one window. The roof is hipped and gabled, covered with Welsh slate. The exterior is primarily Devonian limestone in a random rubble pattern, with brick additions and a slate-hung first floor. The stacks are old and rendered. The first floor has a three-light bay window with casements. The ground floor has small casements with wooden lintels and leaded lights. Other windows on the north and south sides are two-light mullioned casements with leaded lights. The entrance has a small hood and a boarded door, accessed by a flight of steps from the road, which includes a wrought iron handrail.
