Description
This building is a barn and shippon located approximately 20 metres west of Higher Bowcombe Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of slate rubble with granite quoins and lintels, topped with a slurried slate half-hipped roof. The structure is positioned at right angles to the slope of the land. The ground floor features seven shippon doors, and there is a loft door at the centre above, which has a slated hood. Below the eaves, there is a row of pigeon holes with slate ledges. This building is included for its group value.
