Description
Higher Bowcombe Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed from slate-hung stone rubble, topped with a slate roof featuring gabled ends. The building has a double depth plan and stands three storeys tall with three bays. It features tripartite sashes with glazing bars, along with simple-light sashes in the centre of the first and second floors. The entrance includes a central flush panel door and a porch supported by thin granite Tuscan columns, topped with a wooden entablature. There are blind windows and a lunette on the west gable end, and a round-arched stair window at the rear with intersecting glazing bars. Additionally, two red brick chimney-stacks are located behind the ridge.
