Description

This building is a house with origins dating back to the 16th or 17th century, though it has been significantly rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries and modernized in the 20th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with a plastered front, while the rear is exposed and features raised slate-hung timber-framing facing Coles Court. The house has end stacks with brick chimney shafts and pots, and a slate roof.

The layout consists of a single-depth, two-room plan with the front entrance located to the right. The exterior is three storeys high, with a plastered front that has three windows arranged towards the right. The left end features a large panel at the first-floor level that contains a bas-relief of a nymph standing on a wheel. On the ground floor, to the right, there is a doorway with a 20th-century glazed door that has glazing bars. To the left, there is a 19th-century horned four-pane sash window, and in the center, a late 16th or early 17th-century stone mullioned two-light window. The windows on the upper floors are 20th-century uPVC, designed to resemble the 19th-century windows they replaced. The roof is gable-ended to the right, and the rear of the building includes some 20th-century sixteen-pane sash windows. The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest.
