SX 54 NE NEWTON AND NOSS BRIDGE END 9/122 Barn, shippen and cartshed approximately 80 metres south west of Post Office Farm House

Barn over a shippen with adjoining cartshed, formerly part of the Revelstoke estate. Circa 1885. Probably by George Devey's office for the Revelstoke estate. Stone rubble. Slate half-hipped roof with gablets. Eaves continued down at centre to form hood on brackets over central loft door to barn. The barn is at ground level at the rear. Ground floor three shippen doors with continuous slated pentice hood on brackets. Adjoining single storey contemporary cartshed on north east end with half-hipped slate roof and open front. C20 single storey concrete extension of south west end. Reference: Country Life April 29th, 1982, page 1236.
