Description

This building is a cart shed constructed between 1850 and 1851 as part of a farmstead designed by George Devey. It features weatherboard cladding over a timber frame and has a half-hipped tile roof. The structure consists of three bays and faces south. It includes slender arch bracing to the wall plate and wall posts. The interior has not been inspected. This cart shed is part of a picturesque group of significant importance and is recognized as one of the earliest works of George Devey, whose vernacular revival style was a notable development in 19th-century architecture. It was previously listed as Shelter Sheds on the north side of South Park Farmyard.
