Description
A range of farm buildings, dating to the mid-19th century, was likely designed by George Devey in a picturesque style with Swiss influences. Located at the west end of the South Park Farmyard, they close the vista and feature an imitation aisled barn with a large, gabled projecting porch incorporating a balcony. The barn is timber-framed, weatherboarded above a brick foundation, and topped with a high-pitched tiled roof, displaying two gabled dormers. An external staircase beneath the hipped porch provides access to the balcony. A smaller, rendered building with a tiled roof, likely timber-framed and possibly of 17th or earlier origin, is situated at the rear right. Low, stable buildings with slated roofs connect the barn to a granary to the south, constructed of snecked rubble stone with a pyramidal tiled roof and a projecting Tudor-style chimney, and a timber-framed and weatherboarded cart shed to the north featuring a tall half-hipped tiled roof and a small, single-storey extension. The buildings form a group with South Park Farmhouse, an attached barn, buildings at the east end of the farmyard, and shelter sheds on the north side.
