Description

Bullpits is a small hall house, likely dating from the 15th century, with later alterations and refacing. The east-facing front has two storeys and an attic, with two windows. The original hall is located at the right-hand end of the building. A pent dormer sits under the gable of the original, long-hipped roof. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is brick. The windows are mostly 19th-century one-bar casements and modern leaded casements. A modern gabled porch has been added to the left, alongside a single-storey extension. The right-hand return side reveals the length of the hall, with a ridge chimney stack. The ground floor has three windows, irregularly spaced and brick-faced; the first floor is rendered and blank, with a modern square bay on the right. At the rear of the house, some exposed timber framing is visible. Internally, much of the original timberwork remains, including heavy arched tie beams with long braces, a complete carved crown post, and an inglenook fireplace.
