Description

The former farm buildings to the southwest of Kenton Lane Farmhouse are now part of a commercial dairy. They were built around 1808, designed by William Loudon and Robert Abraham. The buildings are constructed of colourwashed Flemish bond brick, featuring hipped plain tile roofs on the north and west ranges, and a gabled slate roof on the south range. The building at the east end of the south range is made of weatherboard over a softwood timber frame on a brick plinth, topped with a half-hipped slate roof. The structures enclose three sides of a courtyard.

The north range includes a through-entry to the west of a former cart or traphouse, with overlights above two entries at the rear. To the east, there is a former one-storey stable with four windows, featuring segmental brick arches over a 20th-century door and early 20th-century two-light casements, along with 19th-century plank loft doors set in gabled dormers on both the front and rear. The west range, which was a fodder barn, has a segmental brick arch over a central entry and a timber lintel above a stable door with an overlight to the south. The former seven-bay shelter shed in the south range, originally open-sided and later infilled, is attached to a former hay barn that has 20th-century lean-to extensions to the east. Inside, there are softwood trusses with clasped and through purlins. This group of buildings forms a cohesive unit with Kenton Lane Farmhouse.
