Description

The cart shed, built between 1850 and 1851, is part of a farmstead designed by George Devey. It features weatherboard cladding over a timber frame and has a half-hipped tile roof. The structure consists of three bays and includes a loft door on the gable end facing south. The wall plate and wall posts are supported by slender arch bracing. The interior has not been inspected. This cart shed is a significant part of a picturesque group of buildings and is one of the earliest works by George Devey, whose vernacular revival style marked an important development in 19th-century architecture.
