Description
Newberry Cottage is a cottage, probably from the 18th century, located on the east side of Newberry Road in Berrynarbor. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and cob, topped with an asbestos slate roof featuring gable ends. The building has a stone rubble stack at the left end and a tall lateral stack at the rear right end. It has a two-room layout with a central staircase and an added single-storey bay at the left end. The cottage stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The windows are primarily 12-paned horizontal sliding sashes, except for the central first-floor window, which is a two-light casement with two panes per light. The central doorway features a half-glazed plank door with nine panes in the upper section. A bread oven projection is visible on the front wall near the left end stack. There are also two outshuts at the rear, both with asbestos slate roofs. The interior has not been inspected.
