Description
The Old School House is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of East Street, Chumleigh. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble with a slate roof, featuring a gable end to the left and a brick stack at the right end. The house has a symmetrical façade with a 2-window range. The original 19th-century windows remain, featuring 16-pane hornless sashes on both floors. A 20th-century central door is accentuated by a late 19th- or early 20th-century timber hood with brackets. The plan consists of a principal room on each side of a central passage.
