Description

WESTLEIGH WESTLEIGH SS 42 NE 3/136 Pair of gravestone adjoining to south of Noraway headstone approximately 12 metres south- west of south-west corner of west tower of Church of St Peter GV II Pair of gavestones backing onto each other. Early C19. Slate straight-headed. The stone facing east records death of John Fry 1807, aged 45. The stone facing west, possibly reset from the foot of the grave, reads 'God took me of all in my prime I could not longer stay And laid me up until his time In my cold bed of cley. Weep not for me my friends that be Nor wife and children kind When God thinks fit we must submit Unto his Holy mind.'
