Description

This gravestone, located approximately 5 metres south-east of the corner of the south transept of the Church of St Peter, dates from the late 18th century and is made of slate. It marks an unmarked grave and features an incised segmental arch with crossed bones and an hourglass, flanked by star motifs. The inscription reads: "In pain and sickness long I lyed my flesh Consum'd my life decayed Some friends I lost but more I found my grief Is past my Joysa bound."
