Description
Green Close is a house with adjoining railings located on Back Lane in North Molton. It was built in the early to mid-19th century, with a possible 20th-century addition at the rear. The building is rendered, likely over stone rubble, and features a gable-ended slate roof that has a 20th-century bitumen covering. The house has stacks with red-brick tops and a two-room central-entrance plan with integral end stacks, along with a one-storey lean-to addition at the back.
The exterior showcases a wooden dentil eaves cornice at the front and consists of three bays. The windows are early 19th-century boxed 16-pane glazing bar sashes, although the right-hand ground-floor window has been replaced by a mid to late 19th-century four-pane sash. The central round-headed doorway is recessed and features an early 19th-century door with six beaded-flush panels, a beaded pegged frame, and a blank wreathed radial fanlight above. There is a semi-circular stone top step leading to the entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
