Description
Hilltown Farmhouse is likely from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with the rear elevation rendered and a bitumen painted slate roof, hipped at each end. The house has end chimneys with brick shafts. Originally planned with a double depth and two rooms wide, it features a central entrance with principal rooms to the front and service rooms to the rear. The symmetrical three-bay front has a 19th-century gabled porch and a 4-panel front door with a glazed overlight. The original small-pane casement windows are three-light to the ground floor and two-light to the first floor, all with segmental brick arches. The rear elevation retains its original windows and also has a rear centre porch. The interior has not been inspected, but may contain original features. Hilltown Farmhouse is a 19th-century farmhouse with all its external features intact.
