Description
This is a pair of gravestones from 1789, located approximately 2 metres west of the south-west corner of the tower of the Church of St Paul in Filleigh. The gravestones are made of slate and feature shaped heads with decorative motifs at the tops and borders. The headstone bears an inscription for Elizabeth, the wife of Robert Bright, who died in 1789. The stone at the foot of the grave includes a verse that reads: "weep not for me my friends most dear I am not dead but sleeping here Resting from all my grief and pain Until the Lord calls me again."
