Description
The mill and millhouse at Filleigh Saw Mills is a water mill and millhouse dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed stone rubble and features slate roofs that are half-hipped at the right end. The mill is a rectangular block that extends to the right with a lower two-room plan millhouse, which has a central entry and a right-angled service wing at the rear left side. The mill stands three storeys tall, with the ground floor containing three windows and a door, the first floor having two windows and a door, and the second floor featuring four windows. All openings are plain with cambered heads, and there is a round arch window with a rusticated surround in the gable end. The millhouse, which may have been converted from an earlier mill building, is two storeys high with two windows, featuring 20-pane sash windows in cambered heads and a central gable porch. There are brick stacks on the right gable and at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
