Description

A Bible Christian chapel, dated 1848, is located in Rackenford. The chapel is constructed of rendered walls with a slate roof, and features a brick lateral stack. It has a rectangular plan. The gable end has a round-arched window with intersecting glazing bars in a Gothick style, positioned above a round-arched doorway. A cast-iron nameplate displays the date. The side walls, divided into two bays, contain two-light Gothick style windows with Y-tracery. The interior includes a gallery supported by panelled front columns on cast-iron columns, and a straight-flight staircase with turned newels. Later 19th-century additions encompass benches, a sanctuary rail, and a rostrum. Several 19th-century wall tablets are also present.
