Description
Rock Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of rendered stone and some cob, topped with a thatched roof featuring gable ends. The building has an axial stone stack with a tapered cap, which has been heightened in brick.
20th-century alterations have obscured the original layout, and the cottage now consists of two rooms divided by the stack, with the entire range being slightly cranked. The cottage is one and a half storeys high and has two windows. The windows include two-light casements with six panes per light, and a twelve-paned light at the right end above two two-light casements, which have six panes per light on the left and eight panes per light on the right, all featuring timber lintels. There is a buttress on the right side and two 20th-century doors at the rear. The interior has also been altered in the 20th century, with a single roughly chamfered beam in the room to the right.
