Description

WITHERIDGE NORTH STREET (north side) SS 81 SW Witheridge 9/70 Highcroft - GV II

House, part now a shop. Probably C17, remodelled early C19. Rendered and pebbledashed, gabled slate roof with wide eaves, crested clay ridge, 3 lateral stacks at the rear, brick shafts. Plan and development: 3 room and through-passage plan, right room a shop now. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical front, 3 windows, sashes with glazing bars and additional marginal lights. Principal door opening is slightly to the right of centre, half-glazed C20 door. Further door opening to the extreme right, half- glazed door. Left door opening with a flat wooden hood with lead capping on ornamental cast-iron brackets. Interior: with early C19 features including staircase and chimneypieces.
