Description
Highcroft is a house, part of which is now a shop. It probably dates from the 17th century and was remodeled in the early 19th century. The building is rendered and pebbledashed, featuring a gabled slate roof with wide eaves and a crested clay ridge, along with three lateral stacks at the rear with brick shafts.
The plan consists of three rooms and a through-passage, with the right room currently serving as a shop. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three sash windows that include glazing bars and additional marginal lights. The principal door opening is slightly to the right of center and features a half-glazed 20th-century door. There is another door opening to the extreme right, also a half-glazed door. The left door opening has a flat wooden hood with lead capping supported by ornamental cast-iron brackets.
Inside, there are early 19th-century features, including a staircase and chimneypieces.
