Description
Ashley Cottage is a small house, possibly originally a toll house, dating from the early 19th century. It features slatestone rubble walls and a very steep water reed thatched roof, with a stone stack positioned to the left of center. The building is single storey with a one-window road front. There is a central doorway that leads to a slight porch projection, with the roof apexed over the entrance. The door is planked, and to the left of the doorway is an old 12-pane, 2-light casement window, which has louvered shutters. The interior has not been inspected.
