Description
Ashley Court Lodge, along with its attached gate piers and gates, is a lodge for a small country house dating from the early 19th century. The building features stucco on the front and ends, with rubble at the rear, and has a dry slate roof that includes a central gable at the front and gables with shaped wooden barge boards. There is a rendered central and end stack on the left side. The lodge exhibits Gothic style characteristics and has a shallow plan, likely consisting of two rooms plus an old extension on the far left.
The exterior is single storey with a two-window range that includes original two-light traceried windows. A central gabled porch features a chamfered pointed-arched doorway and pointed-arched lights on the sides, with a door that has three vertical panels.
The subsidiary features include four square granite ashlar gate piers with plinths, cornice strings, and squat pyramidal caps. The gates are made of cross-braced wood with chamfered and moulded details, including central quatrefoils on the narrower side gates.
