Description
73 St Andrew Street is a public house that has been converted into a house, dating from the 1830s. It is built with mass wall construction and features painted rough cast rendering, although a previous description noted painted brick. The building has a slate roof and cast-iron rainwater goods. It is two rooms wide and double-depth with end stacks, and there is a single-storey service block added to the rear. The interior has been significantly rearranged for pub use, according to a neighbor.
The exterior is two storeys high with a two-window front and a central door. The doorcase is pilastered, featuring a deep entablature and a projecting cornice. The door is a 20th-century plank design, and there are 20th-century high transomed windows on the ground floor, along with 16-pane hornless sash windows on the first floor. The roof is gabled, topped with crown-shaped chimney pots. The interior has not been inspected.
