Description

Ebear Bridge is a road bridge over the Grand Western Canal, built in the early 19th century, with this section of the canal opening in 1814. The bridge is constructed from large coursed blocks of sandstone ashlar and features a single span with an elliptical arch. At road level, there is a plain dripcourse that ramps up towards the center, following the road's incline. The parapet has rounded coping and curves outward at both ends, leading to terminal piers that project slightly outward.
