Description
Ivy Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century, with a 20th-century rear addition. The exterior is whitewashed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof that has a plain design, gabled at the right end and hipped at the left end. There is a brick chimney stack at the right end and a truncated stack at the left end. The building is two storeys high and almost symmetrical, featuring two front windows with regular spacing. The thatch eaves are slightly eyebrowed over the first-floor windows. The windows are 2-light casements with square leaded panes; the two right-hand windows have timber lintels, while the ground floor left window has a segmental brick lintel. The entrance is located through a doorway in the right gable end. The 20th-century rear wing is positioned at right angles to the main range, and there is a 20th-century porch adjoining the rear right corner. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey in 1986, but it may contain features of interest.
