Description

Ivy Tree Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century, with a rear wing added in the 1980s. The original part of the cottage is built of whitewashed rendered cob and has a thatched roof, half-hipped at the right end and gabled to the left, with a projecting stack on the left end. A rear wing is constructed of concrete block and also has a thatched roof. The cottage follows an L-shaped plan. The original block is a single depth, comprising two rooms, one heated and one unheated. The front of the original block is single-storey and has an asymmetrical two-window facade, with a 20th-century porch and timber front door situated to the right of centre. There are 20th-century timber casement windows with glazing bars on either side of the front door on the ground floor, and further 20th-century timber casements to the rear. The interior is reportedly characterised by exposed carpentry, though it has not been inspected.
