Description

The lychgate south of the Church of St Mary is a 19th-century structure, possibly dating from 1848, coinciding with the church's restoration. It features a roof covered in fishscale tiles, supported by a timber framework. The roof is hipped at the ends and rests on a cross-braced timber structure, which has been supplemented with additional or replacement 20th-century posts at the corners. An early 19th-century coffin gate, which revolves on an iron post, is also part of the lychgate. This structure adds charm to the churchyard.
