Description
The lych gate to the Church of St Mary, built in 1846, is a notable timber structure set on an ashlar base, topped with a fishscale tile roof. It features posts with tension braces that support a hipped roof, which has gablets and swept eaves. Inside, there are two arch-braced trusses with cusped braces that support the eaves, and a finial adorned with a wrought-iron cross. The gate includes paired timber gates, and the front arch brace has raised lettering in sunk bands that commemorates the erection of the lych gate in memory of Reverend Robert Anlezark, M.A.
