Description
Holwell Cottage Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building that consists of two cottages, which have now been combined into one. It is likely from the 18th century and features plastered cob on rubble footings, with cob or rubble stacks topped by brick chimney shafts and a thatched roof. The original structure consists of a pair of two-room cottages with mirror plans on either side of a central cob crosswall, and the stacks project from the end walls. The building is two storeys high and retains an original symmetrical facade, although this is partly obscured by 20th-century porches. The overall front has four windows, which are 20th-century wooden casements with glazing bars, with two windows for each former cottage and central doors. The roof is hipped on each side, and the interior features plain carpentry details.
