Description
Gunstone Mill Cottage is a cottage, possibly originally two cottages or part of a larger house, likely built in the 18th century. It features plastered cob on rubble footings, with cob or rubble stacks topped with 19th-century brick, and a thatched roof. The cottage is a two-room block facing north, with a single-storey outshot to the front right, its monopitch roof continuing the slope of the main roof. Each room has a stack on the right side, with the larger stack projecting from the gable end and including a slate-roofed oven projection. The door is now located in the side of the outshot at the angle with the main block. The building has gable ends with roofs at different levels over each half and is two storeys high. The front has two windows, which are 20th-century wooden casements with glazing bars. The right-hand first-floor window is a three-light dormer. Weatherboarding on the left gable end suggests that the building may have originally extended further in that direction. The interior has not been inspected.
